What "Women and men
have the same rights"(Law 3/ of German
Constitution) The woman in charge
of women from UPDE Equal Opportunities, Municipality of
Stade has created an office whose task is to contribute to
the implementation of positive actions within the framework
of the professional and political life, of training and of
everyday life. How
much - This initiative
is at the expenses of the Municipality
How - Creation of an
office where questions, complaints and new ideas are
welcome as for Equal Opportunities items, both for the
town administration and for abroad.
- Survey on women
in disadvantaged conditions, in the attempt of solving
their problem.
- Elaboration and
production of materials about the everyday life of
women
- Implementation
of projects for women promoted by the Municipality and by
the Local Authority.
- Actions of women
promotion within the framework of the social life and
professisonal fulfilment through the co-operation with
companies, bodies and asociations
- Co-operation in
the implementation of projects contributing to improve
the conditions of women and girls.
- Diffusion,
through press, means of communication, public relations,
ssensitisation demonstrations, aexposition and
distribution of information material.
Why
- The majority of women approaching
UPD was ignorant of the fundamental women rights . In ordder to fill
this gap, a targeted work of sensitisation and information has been
implemented, both through concrete projects promoting women on the social
and professional environment, and by the means of a co-operation between
private bodies and public administration.

- Women, once acknowledged their
rights, are able to benefit from the whole existing legislation, both
in terms of equality and of positive actions.
