Manager women and new forms of work organisation: JOB SHARING

What

Creation of a local Job Sharing programme aimed at information, training and guidance for manager women who want to come back to work through a job sharing system. This programme is composed of three action points: Organisation of "job sharing" information and sensitisation meetings Establishment of a " Job Sharing " action group for manager women from Boulogne-Billancourt looking for employment.Launch of " Zoom enterprises " , a series of studies aimed at the identification, on the territory of Boulogne-Billancourt, of job sharing dynamics in a number of different sectors of activity.

Iter

The local partners meeting and the observation of data concerning employment and the economic tissue show that: During the first quarter of the year 2000, the unemployment rate in Boulogne-Billancourt is of just 7.89 %, but 26.6% of people looking for employment are managers (and the half of them are women) The economic tissue is composed of 7000 enterprises, 80% of which are small-size and micro- enterprises with a preponderance of interests in the service sector (communication, high technology, information technology, multimedial employment…) Within such a framework, CIFF-CIDF has proposed to his local partners who are concerned in economics and employment (Chambre de commerce et d'industrie, antenne de Boulogne, MEDEF 92 SUD (organisation patronale), Direction du travail et de l'emploi et de la formation professionnelle 92 Ouest ; Services des affaires économiques de la ville de Boulogne, ANPE de la ville de Boulogne), to take steps in order to allow both unemployed manager women and small-size and micro- enterprises to work together according to a "proximity job" logic.

How

Creation of a work group on " manager women and new forms of job organisation: Job Sharing" . This work group, born in september 1999, meets once a month. Establishment of a " Job Sharing " action group composed of those manager women from Boulogne-Billancourt who want to find again a job in a "job Sharing" form. The group is formed of 27 manager women.

The global budget devoted by the Boulogne-Billancourt CIDF to all the projects developed within the framework of RECIFE.

Results

The establishment of a work group on the new forms of job organisation, and, in particular, on Job Sharing, with a very diversified and wide partnership, representing the local economy and employment world. This group meets once a month from september 1999 in order to implement the local "Job Sharing" programme. Job Sharing is the means to come back to the enterprise: manager women will have an active path in the enterprises. They will be able to present this new form of job organisation called "Job Sharing". Realisation of a "Job Sharing" local project acting through information meetings, the establishment of a "Job Sharing " action group, and a series of researches in the enterprises, aimed at the identification of "Job Sharing" development dynamics.
