Recipe n.29 Women Desk - Province of Lodi - Pari e Dispari - Milan - What The Woman Desk is a service linked to the Employment services and devoted to: · Young and adult women looking for a job, who want to move more autonomously on the labour market; · Companies which can find information about labour market rules and hiring incentives; · Vocational training Centres and schools. The Woman Desk was designed and tested in a NOW Project and it is still operative in the Province of Lodi (Lombardy) financed by the Province. How much The Desk started its activity in 1999. The responsible is Pari e Dispari with a female operator specialised in guidance and equal opportunities. How The Desk offers the following services: · information; · individual initial interview; · data input into the Databank of the Desk; · direct information or self-consulting on public or private job offers, training offer; · employment protection and equal opportunities; · Individual and group activities; · Guidance interviews by appointment; · Drawing up a curriculum; · Strategy for job searching; · Consultation of documents and greater details on new professions. The services offered are entirely free of charge.   Procedure The Desk works by appointment to ensure high quality individual reception and attention to users' needs. It is located at the premises of the Employment Department and depends directly on the Labour provincial Councillorship. Results The activity of Woman Desk is constantly monitored. Results are positive both for the employment outlets and for the guidance and information services offered.
